The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware

Book Summary

In this tightly wound, enthralling story reminiscent of Agatha Christie’s works, Lo Blacklock, a journalist who writes for a travel magazine, has just been given the assignment of a lifetime: a week on a luxury cruise with only a handful of cabins. The sky is clear, the waters calm, and the veneered, select guests jovial as the exclusive cruise ship, the Aurora, begins her voyage in the picturesque North Sea. At first, Lo’s stay is nothing but pleasant: the cabins are plush, the dinner parties are sparkling, and the guests are elegant. But as the week wears on, frigid winds whip the deck, gray skies fall, and Lo witnesses what she can only describe as a dark and terrifying nightmare: a woman being thrown overboard. The problem? All passengers remain accounted for—and so, the ship sails on as if nothing has happened, despite Lo’s desperate attempts to convey that something (or someone) has gone terribly, terribly wrong…

Holy moly – what a ride! I fell in love with Ruth Ware after reading In A Dark, Dark Wood so purchasing this book was a no brainer…. and I loved this book even more!

Lo (a journalist) gets an opportunity of a lifetime to go on a luxury cruise and write about it. Shortly in, she thinks someone get pushed overboard and when she tries to express her concern, no one believes her… especially since everyone on the ship – guests and crew alike – are all accounted for. She continues to dig in to try and figure out what’s going on because surely she’s not going crazy… right?

I kept thinking I knew what was going on but nope! Loved every bit of this book. Looks like Ruth Ware just became an auto buy author for me!

As mentioned before Ruth Ware is hit or miss for me. My favorite from her is the Turn of the Key. This is the first one I started with. If you read the synopsis, it sounds amazing! I also feel like this one starts out really strong, but somewhere it completely lost me. This one may have been too unbelievable and it may have gotten boring at one part too so that it didn’t keep my attention and felt me feeling dissapointed at the end.
