Book Summary

When a woman is murdered in Blackdown, a quintessentially British village, newsreader Anna Andrews is reluctant to cover the case. Detective Jack Harper is suspicious of her involvement, until he becomes a suspect in his own murder investigation.

Someone isn’t telling the truth, and some secrets are worth killing to keep.

His & Hers is a twisty, smart, psychological thriller. A gripping tale of suspense, told by expertly-drawn narrators that will keep readers guessing until the very end.

    Holyyyyy Molyyyyyy! 😳😳
    .
This book is insane! It is dark and it is twisted!
    .
I feel like the synopsis is deliberately succinct because the author wants you to go into this story blind, so I don’t want to say too much either.
    .
It begins with a murder and it involves a detective and a reporter. The story is told in alternating perspectives. You will have no idea who to trust. 👀

I just love Alice Feeney. I just do. Point blank, period. I know some readers have issues with some of her… say, shark jumping, but I am here for every single bleeping word. I can’t help myself. And this one pleased me just as much as her last two…. actually, more so.

Again, Feeney brings us short, compulsive chapters that immediately catch my attention. I absolutely did not want to put this one down. And every chapter had me trying to guess who the villain was… well, let’s not say villain as there are many.. but killer. .. Yes, Killer. 😈 As someone who reads a shit ton of thrillers, I was like, “Ok, it has to be this person… orrrrrrr maybe *that* person because of this and that reason”. You know, going with the typical thriller “rules” we avid readers always catch wind of. If I’m not making any sense, it’s because I’m still reeling from this read. Hold up, let me catch my breath.

Wooooooosa.. Ok, look, this one will have your head spinning. I absolutely did not see the ending coming. I don’t care if some people think it’s a bit out there. The whole thing was AND I LOVED IT. I loved being constantly confused and not knowing what the hell was going on and with who and when and WHY. This was definitely the read I needed right now.

I’m not sure this read will be for everyone because these types of reads always brings divisiveness and I live for that. LIVE FOR IT. Obviously, 5 stars.

This would have been a 5, but rounded down to a 4 due to graphic animal cruelty. Even with that, I will say this is one of my favorite thrillers of the year. Just wish that part was left out….

My initial thoughts when finishing were-Omg now this a thriller!

Alice Feeney does it again! If this one isn’t on your radar, put it on your TBR now. I guarantee you will thank me, and there is no way you are going to guess this one!

I loved Sometimes I Lie ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and I Know Who You Are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so His & Hers was naturally one of my most anticipated reads of 2020.

Alice Feeney has a wonderful way with words, and I love how magnificently her dual storylines connect. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat and gasping throughout. This is how all psychological thrillers should be. Tons of reveals, tons of action, and very unpredictable.

Again Animal lovers, I am warning you there is some animal cruelty in this one so unfortunately I couldn’t give it a perfect rating, but other then that this is definitely a 5 star read.

I would recommend this one to thriller lovers, Alice Feeney fans, and those looking for an action packed unpredictable thriller.

As the title suggests, His & Hers is a multiple P.O.V. novel with perspectives shared from protagonists Anna Andrews, news presenter, and DCI Jack Harper. Their paths cross as a body is found in the woods of Blackdown, launching a murder investigation which brings the past to the fore and dredges up memories which are better left buried.

In terms of the characters, Anna stole centre stage for me as the many facets of her personality continued to be revealed, allowing me to have some empathy and tolerance for her less desirable characteristics. Police Officer Priya is well-developed to fill her intentional place as an ever present annoyance, the behavioural traits she encompassed triggering elements of pity, irritation, and a wry smile of amusement in an otherwise thrilling tale.

This is a scorching speed read of a book, which winds the reader a merry dance, luring you in so you think you have the story sussed, only to change theories and encounter ‘aha’ moments aplenty. I was ultimately able to work out the final twist, though there were still important elements which I had not guessed and enabled all the strands of the story to be wound together in a neat bow. I love a tidy ending!

Having discovered Alice Feeney through her debut, Sometimes I Lie, I was delighted to have the opportunity to read this book and would advise any crime and thriller fans to add it to their reading lists.

I know twists are a crucial part of thrillers but wow! this one was definitely a gigantic shocker!!!

Anna is a TV reporter. Jack is a homicide detective. They share a lot of history but they’re divorced now. They’ve been assigned to the same murder investigation which involves a victim they both knew from before they were married. The rest is packed with twists and turns and a whole lot of creepiness!!

This is definitely the best thriller I’ve read this year!!!
